Use of the service

SmartPlag provides similarity, AI-writing and language indicators to help authors improve their documents and to help educators start conversations about academic integrity. Results are indicators and are not a legal or disciplinary finding.

Your documents

The text you submit is stored in your account so you can reopen your reports. It is used for comparison with other users’ checks only if you choose “Add to repository”. Other users never see your text: a match only shows the date of the matching submission. You can delete a check at any time from your dashboard.

Third-party processing

To search the web, short excerpts of your text are sent to our search provider. To compute AI-writing and grammar indicators, your text is sent to our AI provider. Payments are processed by Flutterwave; we never see your card or Mobile Money PIN.

Credits

Purchased words do not expire and are not refundable once used. Words used by a failed check are refunded automatically.
